How to survive the Zombie Apocalypse or a World Wide Pandemic. Learn what survival gear you need!
A lot of people really get into the zombie thing. I do too. I don’t know what it is but I really love Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead. I even stay on to watch Talking Dead. Why is this? Is it because a zombie apocalypse could really happen? Truly, I don’t think it can, it’s pretty far-fetched if you think of the science of it. When you die your cells die and they don’t come back. They can’t come back. And they certainly won’t be coming back with a hunger to eat flesh. And a rotting corpse will not stay intact for very long open to the elements and decaying. With all that being said, it still can’t hurt to be prepared. There was that guy in Miami that was drugged out on bath salts and started eating someone’s face. Or the issue with Ebola in Africa? It made its way to Europe, Asia, and North America and was a true scare worried us all. I couldn’t help but think about it spreading to my area. How would affect school being open, or work. How would I protect my family?
For a Zombie Apocalypse it may take some time to evolve, like a pandemic. When a pandemic breaks out it will take a while to spread across regions and to different countries. So at least you’ll have that, extra time to prepare and work towards limiting your exposure to the disease that everyone else may just be putting on the back burner. When a pandemic breaks out, smart people are starting to prepare and think about the future before things get out of hand. It never hurts to be prepared. Thinking about the what-if’s may seem like a waste of time but if that what-if does occur you’ll ready. You will mentally have a plan that will help you get through it. You may also be prepared enough that you have tools and gear you need.
You will need to make sure you have food, water, shelter and medical supplies. Your shelter may already be worked out as you will likely stay in your own house or apartment. But if you have a second home, perhaps a cabin in the woods, boat or RV you should think about creating a stock pile of food, water and gear at those places. You’ll be ahead of the game and can limit your exposure to other people. You’ll also need to think about electricity. You’ll need electricity to pump the heat or air conditioning in your living space. You will need some form of light for nighttime either with electricity, propane, gas lanterns, or candles or some sort of fire. An easy option to obtain electric power will be a generator.
