What gear you’ll need to survive Nuclear War, Biological Warfare, Electromagnetic Pulse or an Alien Invasion.
War is a complicated matter. Our military, President, Congress, the Department of State and other government agencies and law enforcement personnel work together and make the executive decisions to protect the citizens of our nation. But can they guarantee our protection? No! There are still actions our enemies can take to destroy our sense of freedom and take away the modern and technological luxuries that we enjoy.
Take for example Alien Invasion. Actions taken by our government will likely not be enough to combat an alien race from taking over our planet. We are pretty much guaranteed that these aliens will have advanced technology and weaponry that will give us little chance at winning an all out invasion. We will have the choice of taking a stand and fighting or withdrawing into the landscape and hiding for at least a chance at survival. Hopefully our military will save us. Hopefully those of us that can’t help with the fight will be able to survive and continue the human species should the aliens conquer our planet.
The gear you need to survive an alien invasion follows most of the same protocols as other survival situations. You will need your standard survival gear including food and water, shelter, and weapons to defend yourself. If you have the luxury of having medical supplies a few basic items you should have are bandages, suture kit, iodine, thermo blanket, medical reference book, antibiotics, pain killers, and antihistamines. A basic emergency medical kit may be all that you can grab in a moments notice, but if you have your go-bag ready keep it stocked with the necessary drugs. In a world war situation you will have more time to prep your shelter and go-bag. The United States has the best military in the world, however with modern day weaponry our enemies have access to missiles, bombs and nuclear warheads that can target our cities and be set off from thousands of miles away. Take this time to get all the necessary supplies in order and ready to go. Outfit your bomb shelter with nonperishable food that will last long enough for the nuclear fallout to dissipate. Keep a battery powered or hand crank radio available so you can get the latest news and know when its absolute necessary to evacuate.
You will also want a radiation meter or geiger counter. The human senses cannot detect radiation therefore you will need some means of detecting the amount of radiation in the environment. A properly outfitted bomb shelter will have food and water in airtight containers but you know it won’t last forever. There will be some point you will have to leave your shelter in search of additional food, water, and other supplies. The radio and radiation meter will be helpful to you when its time to take that step.
